Cyanotypes

Cyanotype printing involves exposing a layer of chemicals, painted on watercolour paper, to sunlight, through a transparent acetate negative of the image. This process produces one-of-a-kind pieces of work, with the brushstrokes framing the image.

Sketching and Watercolour

Val Kesterton’s style of sketching employs fine-liners, ink-brushes, and watercolours to generate eye-catching surrealist pieces which give away a scene without the scrutiny of precision.

Their journey with sketching has lead them to pair sketches with poetic prose or lyrics borrowed from gothic rock, and photographic images with drawn print, in attempt to imbue the piece with a dual meaning
